Client Need
Colgate released its first AR toothbrush and supporting app that turns brushing teeth into a game. As the child brushes the tooth brush is able to translate the movement of the brush into points in a virtual game. Colgate wanted to create an introductory how-to video to educate parents and kids on how the device works. The goal was to walk them through set up, replacement of the brush and a brief overview of using the device. They needed the video to be equally appealing to children and parents on learning how an augmented reality device works. The video needed to be used on social, in app and e-commerce platforms.
The Solve
We worked with the amazing team at the branding agency Beardwood & Co. to create a script and storyboard. Once these were created we worked with the photographer, who was also capturing assets for packaging, and his team to walk them through what was needed to add visual effects.
We advised on making sure framing was correct so that characters could be placed in and the actors understood where and how to interact with the animations. Once all of the assets were captured on set the CDF team worked to edit and add the VFX elements based on our original discussions on the storyboard.
